Africa Hunt Lodge allows the opportunity to hunt and harvest Monster South African Bush Pig. The Mountain areas of the Limpopo Province in South Africa is the premier destination in the World to hunt the Bush Pig. Year round, we offer hunts for awesome Trophy Bush Pig. There are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Bush Pig in South Africa, which makes it a suitable trophy year round. 

Our hunters typically hunt the South African Bush Pig in conjunction with a 7-10 day African Safari. One of our Experienced and Licensed Professional Hunters will be your guide during your Bush Pig Hunt. We typically hunt Bush Pig at night either Safari Style or by Still Hunting over bait. We can accommodate all methods of Hunting for Bush Pig including Rifle, Bow, Black Powder, Crossbow or Handgun. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level. 

The Trophy Bush Pig which we hunt on our South Africa Concession usually range in the 150-300 lb range with nice cutters. 

The Bush Pig (Potamochoerus larvatus) is a species of wild pig native to sub-Saharan Africa.

What do Bush Pig look like:

Bush pigs are strong medium-sized pigs. They have a reddish-brown coat and shaggy hair. Its upper tusks aren’t very visible, but the lower tusks are razor sharp and can be up to 7 centimeters long. Adult bush pigs typically weight between 120 and 330 pounds. 

Bush Pig Habitat:

Bush pigs can be found in a variety of habitats, including woodlands, grasslands, and swamps. Their main habitats requirement is dense cover. Bush pigs will avoid open forests or savannas. 

Bush Pig Behavior:

Bush pigs are primarily nocturnal, but may also be active during the day in areas with little human disturbance. They are known for their secretive behavior, making them hard to observe in the wild. Bush pigs protect their territories vigorously, and can be very aggressive to each other and other animals. These animals often get into conflict with farmers due to crop damage. 

Bush Pig Diet:

Bush pigs are omnivores feeding on plant matter and vertebrates. Their diet can include plant roots, rhizomes, bugs, tubers, fruits, and insect larvae. 

Bush Pig Reproduction:

Bush pigs usually give birth to a litter of pigs after a gestation period of about 4 months. The piglets are well developed and can start following the mother around shortly after birth.

Non-hunting guests are welcome to accompany the Hunters.
