Africa Hunt Lodge allows the opportunity to hunt and harvest South African and Zimbabwean Elephants from March until November. Zimbabwe is the premier destination in the World to hunt the Elephant, with populations in South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe nearly a half a million. We offer hunts for awesome Trophy Elephant where you can expect to harvest a 30-60 pound Elephant within a 10 day hunt.

One of our Experienced and Licensed Professional Hunters will be your guide during your 10 Day Elephant Hunt, and you will hunt spot and stalk tactics along with safari style. Elephant Hunting with a minimum rifle caliber of .375 is required for this Safari.  We have multiple areas where we hunt Elephant in Zimbabwe based on the annual populations, number of permits issued, and the presence of good water in the area given that particular year.

We also offer Unexportable Elephant Hunts, called Ration or Quota Hunts, where the meat, skin, skull and tusks all go to the locals...you will have the experience of the hunt, photos, and the opportunity to score the elephant for SCI and TGR Scoring systems.

The African Elephant which we hunt on our Concessions, mostly in Southern Zimbabwe, are all of trophy caliber, or as mentioned, Quota Non Exportable Elephant Hunts. We can also hunt in Namibia, Mozambique or South Africa, depending on the Elephant Hunt you are booking. Prior to your hunt, it is recommended that you submit a request for you CITIES permit to USFW to import your trophy, if you are hunting a trophy exportable elephant.

African elephants are the larger of the two species of elephants, the other being the Asian elephant.

What do Africa Elephants look like:

African elephants are the largest land animals on Earth. They weigh between 5,000 and 14,000 pounds. Males and females can both have tusks, while males generally have larger tusks that are usually about 6 feet long.

African Elephant Habitat:

These elephants inhabit a range of environments, from open wooded savannas, to some deserts and forests. They can be found in various countries across Africa, but we hunt mostly in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Caprivi Strip Namibia, or Mozambique.

African Elephant Diet:

African elephants are herbivores that feed on a variety of vegetation including grass, leaves, bark, fruit, and a variety of foliage. They need about 350 pounds of vegetation every day to meet their nutritional needs.

Behavior of the African Elephant:

Elephants are usually peaceful animals, but females can be aggressive when young calves are present. They usually live in family groups led by the father figure.
