Africa Hunt Lodge allows the opportunity to hunt and harvest the Beautiful South African Burchell's Zebra. The Limpopo Province of South Africa is the premier destination in the World to hunt Zebra. Year round, we offer hunts for awesome Trophy Zebra as there are no seasonal restrictions on hunting the Zebra in South Africa, which makes it a suitable trophy year round.

Our hunters typically hunt the South African Zebra in conjunction with a 7-10 day African Safari. One of our Experienced and Licensed Professional Hunters will be your guide during your Zebra Hunt. We typically hunt Zebra Safari Style, Spot and Stalk, or by Still Hunting if you are a Bow Hunter. We can accommodate all methods of Hunting for Zebra including Rifle, Bow, Black Powder, Crossbow or Handgun. We can accommodate hunters of any age and experience level.

The Zebra which we hunt on our South Africa Concession are some of the most beautiful in the World. You can expect only a mature and developed Zebra Stud or Female when hunting with us...will make for a great rug or pedestal mount.  Burchell's Zebra are one of the most sought after hunting trophies added to our Safaris.

Zebras are members of the horse family (Equidae) known for their distinctive black and white stripes.

Species:

There are three species of zebras: the Plains zebra, the Grevy's zebra, and the Mountain zebra. The plains zebra is the most common and widespread species. There are also 11 different types of Zebra within the 3 species.

What do Zebra look like:

Zebras are easily recognized by their black and white striped coats. The pattern of stripes serves as camouflage, helps to deter biting flies, and may also play a role in social communication among zebras.

Zebra Habitat:

Zebras inhabit a variety of habitats depending on species. The plains zebra is the most common zebra in Limpopo. Plains zebras are found in savannas, grasslands, and open woodlands.

The Zebra's Diet:

Zebras are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses. They may occasionally feed on leaves, stems, or shoots. They are adaptable to grazing in open areas and use their sense of smell and hearing to detect predators while feeding.

Zebra Behavior:

Zebras are social animals that live in groups called harems. Harems consist of a dominant male, several females, and their offspring. They have a hierarchical structure in which the male has priority access to food and water.

Reproduction of the Zebra:

Zebra Females give birth to a single foal after a gestation period of 11-13 months. Foals can stand and walk very shortly after birth, and are weaned at around 6-8 months of age.
